WILD and WISE

Wild and Wise

A Workshop for the Real Spiritual Lives of Men.

Brothers,

I hope you're enjoying summer in Ohio or wherever you may be located!

For many of us this has been perhaps a more challenging year than we expected. Our country and the world continues to struggle with subduing the pandemic as well as the many changes we are experiencing in our culture, economy and our climate. Somedays I'm simply overwhelmed, and the only way I'm able to cope is by accepting life's challenges fully as I continue reaching out to others for community and support...

One of the things I've been working on this year is planning a workshop for September called WILD and WISE. Earlier during the winter, a friend sent me a copy of WILD and WISE by Steve Robach after he attended the annual Illuman of Minnesota retreat in January. My friend was moved by his experience of working through some of the exercises in WILD and WISE and thought that I would be interested.

Because of my experience with the Twelve Steps, specifically Step Four: Made a searching and fearless inventory of ourselves, I quickly realized WILD and WISE could be an invaluable tool to men on the Journey of Illumination.

Those of you familiar with the Twelve Steps may already recognize where I'm heading. For those of you not as familiar, the Fourth Step invites people to take a closer and critical look at their past behavior. One way to approach this is as an exercise. To this end there are many Fourth Step Workbooks that help people to process their "inventories" with exercises and prompting questions. And from my perspective, that's exactly what WILD and WISE does for men on a spiritual journey.

Whether or not you're familiar with the Twelve Steps does not matter. Every man on a spiritual journey is invited to join us on Saturday afternoons this September as we work through the exercises of WILD and WISE together. In this workshop you'll experience fraternity, music, opportunities to reflect on your life experience and also the chance to share with other men in council. All this will be in service of expanding our spiritual growth and awareness.

So please consider joining us for WILD and WISE: A workshop for the real spiritual lives of men. I've been working closely with Steve Robach who is the author of WILD and WISE, and he will be leading us through our work together. Also, please note that attendance at all four Saturday workshops is preferred, but not required. So don't let this limit your participation. And feel free to invite the men in your community to join us. Your presence matters!
