This event will happen rain or shine!
We invite the men of Ohio Illuman to gather for a Fireside Council at Caesar Creek State Park on Sunday, October 15 from 3-6 p.m. The afternoon will feature stimulating content on the gift of work, a short wandering into the park grounds, grilled food (with a vegetarian option), drumming, and a chance to connect with other men in life-giving conversation.
Renowned Catholic nun and activist, Sr. Joan Chittister shares a monthly newsletter called the Monastic Way, and we will use some of her content around the gift of work to shape our council gathering. In this sense, work is much more than earning income. She recently wrote: "To know the presence of God in all things has serious implications for the way a person lives the rest of life. When I float in a sea of God, there is nothing not sacred." Join us as we go deeper into her insights and reflect on the messages in our own lives.
We will do this in the Holly Shelter @ Caesar Creek, which we have rented for this event. From it, we will wander into the beautiful grounds of the park. Upon return, we will provide grillables, and we ask those attending to bring a salad, dessert, or other contribution to add to the offerings.
There will also be fire. We will all have a chance to pass the torch! Please RSVP to this event and let us know if you would prefer the meat or the vegetarian option. We will send out more detailed information prior to our council to those who respond.
We will include some Bengals and Browns updates for those of us most invested in the games.
Please send questions and RSVPs using the button below to Brian Mueller.
