Join your Brothers in Southwestern Ohio for their monthly council group which includes a program.
Meeting Theme:
Visiting Forces
Buddha taught the reason we suffer is because of "visiting forces." As we prepare for thanksgiving and the opening of our homes to visitors, we will take some time to ruminate on this Buddhist teaching. And since we are ruminating, we will read Rumi's poem "The Guest House." Expect this session to include deep reflection and discussion. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. We will start with drumming!
Date: Sunday, November 14, 2021

Contact: Tom Sparough
Notes:
The session will begin with a cup of soup and some hot bread for all participants.
We will gather in Tom's carriage house which is almost like being outside—drafty and a large open space so dress appropriately for the weather. Tom's house will also be open for those needing the bathroom.
The Illuman Way of Council is a communal contemplative practice that fosters a heart-centered way of listening, speaking and being with others. The practice opens a deeper and more meaningful way of communicating and fosters compassion and empathy for other men’s experiences. Men can speak without being judged or shamed; speak about their emotions and be emotional; forge real and authentic relationships with other men; and share the real challenges of the different roles we have in life: husband/partner, father, grandfather, brother, provider, businessman, mentor, and apprentice.
