Ohio Illuman Convener Monthly Update - April 2018
Brothers,
As you are reading this, Brian Mueller and I are in Carlinville, Illinois for the Illuman leadership retreat with our Illuman brothers from around the world. I plan to share what we learn at our upcoming gathering with you in the next newsletter...
The Ohio Illuman Board of Directors met in March to plot our course for 2018. I would like to welcome three new brothers to the board: Brian Mueller, Rich Horton, and Jonathon Farmerie. They will be joining vice president Bob Farmerie, treasurer Tom Simmonds, secretary Shawn Witmer, and me as your president. Please pray for wisdom and generosity as we attempt to serve as spiritual guides to the men of Ohio Illuman throughout this year. And thank you to all who serve the men of Ohio.
As I have mentioned before, the Ohio Chapter of Illuman is building momentum. One of the exciting new developments is the North Central Ohio Illuman Small Group which met for the first time last month in Bellville. Twelve men came together to share from the heart in council. Maybe we will see you in Bellville on April 19th for the next council. This group is being facilitated by Charlie Myking. If you are interested in starting a small group in your area like Charlie did, please contact me. I am eager to support your efforts.
At the end of this month is the Northern Ohio Men’s Spiritual Journey’s retreat → Growing Towards Wholeness: Exploring the Four Male Archetypes. Please consider joining other men also on a spiritual journey for an interfaith retreat revolving around the four male archetypes: King, Warrior, Magician, and Lover. The retreat runs April 27-29 in Fremont, Ohio and costs $325.
I’d like to mention once again the Indiana-Michigan M.A.L.Es retreat this April 20-22 → Enneagram Retreat: 9 Windows Into The Soul. This weekend retreat will explore the Enneagram as men walk shoulder to shoulder on the Journey of Illumination. With the five JOI touchstones as a guide, participants will use the deep wisdom of the Enneagram to move past the basics of their Enneagram Type and learn how to improve relationships with others and to become more in touch with their True Self. The retreat will take place in Cassopolis, Michigan and costs $210.
Please also pay special attention to Getting to Know Your Muslim Brother in the Cleveland area on May 19th. This is a wonderful opportunity where brothers can get to know each other, learn about the Islamic faith and its traditions, and ultimately dispel stereotypes in order to help break down barriers.
Thank you for your interest and participation.
Please stay in touch!
